Description: A celebration of the wonders of magic using themes from its namesake as inspiration for the melodic content. A Sorcerer's Incantation is a Grade 3 piece divided in to four movements, and written for reduced instrumentation. The Sorcerer's Apprentice grabs our attention just to have a Magic Flute cast an Incantation that causes a dance leading to a celebration of the Witches Sabbath. A Sorcerer's Incantation is a very flexible show that provides opportunities to showcase multiple sections musically and visually. Musical Selections: This piece uses selections from: 1) L'apprenti Sorcier by Paul Dukas (PD) 2) Incantation and Dance by John Barnes Chance 3) Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz (PD) |
